Sr. Financial Analyst

Job Brief

The incumbent has broad responsibility of working with the Finance, Accounting, Research & Development, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales Teams to analyze PIM’s sales forecasting. The position will have significant input to evaluate the profitability of new product launches and aid in the measurement of trade promotion effectiveness and return on investment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes current and past financial data and performance to make recommendations on profit enhancement
  • Prepares reports and company projections based on analysis of variances
  • Identifies trends in financial performance and projecting future results based trends
  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual reports of production optimization and promotional trade spend implications
  • Develops, updates and manages financial models measuring profitability and return on investment (ROI) potential
  • Guides cost analysis process by evaluating the margins on new product launches and existing pack-out modifications
  • Demonstrates appropriate understanding and working knowledge of accounting principles

A high level of cross-functional interaction with a multitude of departments is essential, so a collaborative approach is required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • 1-3 years in a financial role, preferably within a manufacturing company
  • Highly proficient in extracting and analyzing data from spreadsheets databases, MS Office and financial software applications
  • Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand business strategies and goals
  • Demonstrated ability to align work with strategic goals
  • Proficient computer, organizational, analytical, research and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and a willingness to learn new things
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels of management and employees in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and to interpret rules and guidelines to enhance the business and in keeping with PIM’s values and culture
