Job Brief

 

JOB OVERVIEW

 

  • Responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work orders
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for the efficient and effective use of planning and scheduling all resources to conduct maintenance activities which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity
  • Full accountability for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work orders including, but not limited to, contractor work, preventative work, predictive work, and routine maintenance
  • Responsible for the coordination of labor, parts and material, tools and equipment, and equipment access

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work with contractors/vendors and operations to schedule equipment repairs
  2. Work with mechanics/automation and operations to schedule PMs and repairs
  3. Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP
  4. Follow PIM Brands GMP rules
  5. Monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMP’s.
  6. Understand equipment structure/BOM/cost accounting within a CMMS system
  7. Requisition parts within the CMMS system
  8. Develop PM system inside the CMMS including critical SOPs
  9. Work with mechanics/automation to write/change PM task lists/SOPs
  10. Oversee store room activity, parts inventory management, accuracy, and cycle counts
  11. Capable of working on the plant Emergency Response Team
  12. Write and run reports for Maintenance Manager
  13. Understand and improve KPI’s
  14. Manage a work order request system that can track time, effort, materials and completed projects
  15. Integrate subcontract schedules with project master schedules and oversee contractors
  16. Monitor and oversee costs including important labor and materials
  17. Resource and cost loading, integrating costs and cost estimates with schedules
  18. Recommend solutions or recovery plans to delays or schedule impact
  19. Analyze variances in cost and schedule performance against plans
  20. Identify equipment and special tools requirements
  21. Input job plans into scheduling software
  22. Identify critical paths on projects to make sure deadlines are met
  23. Manage labor for dept. schedule as required to reflect progress and plan changes
  24. Ability to work additional hours as needed

Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls.  Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 50 lbs, use a PC, and work around moving equipment. Reasonable accommodations will be evaluated and considered to enable an individual to perform the essential job functions.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Job will generally be performed in the manufacturing plant. When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment.  Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor

 

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • High school education or equivalent is strongly preferred
  • 2-year technical degree, Electronics or Mechanical preferred
  • 5 years of experience, preferably in the food industry
  • Experience leading the vision of a Predictive Maintenance System
  • Must possess good communication skills; Verbal, written, computer, e-mail and phone
  • Demonstrated teamwork aptitude, ability to positively influence craftsman, associates, management, accounting, operations and purchasing departments
  • Knowledge and understand of basic electrical and mechanical systems
  • Organized and must have good time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • CMMS knowledge is a must at least 2 years of experience
  • SAP or Lawson experiences a plus
